On June 29th, 2020, Chu Xuan, chairman of Taitong International Transport Co., Ltd. and his delegates went to visit Consul-General Nguyen Trong Hyo and Commercial Consul Du Kwok Heung in the Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming. Consul General Nguyen Trong Hyo welcomed Chairman Chu Xuan and his delegates and the two sides conducted in-depth exchange of views on the opening of China-ASEAN international multimodal transport freight trains.

During the meeting, Chairman Chu Xuan elaborated on the operation of "China-ASEAN" multimodal transport international train program and current business contacts with Taitong International. Consul General Nguyen Trong Hyo introduced trade development in Vietnam in recent years and gave strong support to the project, hoping to jointly promote the successful opening of "China-ASEAN" multimodal transport international freight trains.

The two sides agreed that the opening and regular operation of "China-ASEAN" multimodal transport international freight trains for the first time would have a positive impact on expanding bilateral import and export trade and promoting regional economic development. Vietnam is a key ASEAN member and an important node country along belt and road initiative. The outcomes of this meeting will play a leading and demonstrative role in building a major channel for mutual benefit and win-win outcomes between China and ASEAN, helping Taitong International to take multi-modal transport freight trains as a bond, and promoting the effective interconnectivity of regional foreign trade.
