Since the trial operation of China and ASEAN international freight trains of Beijing-Tianjin-Baoding international smart port, the freight trains have been cared and supported by many parties. Hebei provincial government and Baoding municipal government will further implement development strategy along the national development strategy, broaden new trade channels between Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and ASEAN and promote in-depth cooperation between Taitong international and Vietnamese companies. On August 26th, 2020, delegates led by Zhou Linwei, deputy secretary-general of Baoding municipal government took part in “border meeting” (meeting at the bridge dividing China and Vietnam) and other participants included leaders from Lao Cai government, Vietnam consulate in Kunming and Minh Khai import and export stock company. Leaders from Honghe area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Hekou county, foreign Affairs Office of Hebei Province, Baoding municipal government and Lianchi district government and Chu Xuan, Chairman of Taitong International, attended the meeting.

Do Truong Giang, delegation leader of Vietnam and director of industry and trade administration of Lao Cai province, Vu Van Cai, director of foreign affairs administration of Lao Cai province, Honang Dang Khoa, president of people's committee of Lao Cai city, Do Quoc Huong, commercial counselor in Kunming, Vu Minh, chairman of Minh Khai and other 9 participants took part in the meeting. The border meeting concentrated on operative cooperation on "China-ASEAN" multimodal transport international freight trains, holding video conference between Chinese and Vietnamese companies, friendly city establishment between Baoding and Lao Cai city and enterprise cooperation.

The atmosphere was friendly and harmonious, and consensus was reached on the following projects: first, a "preparatory Committee" was to be established for the cooperative video conference between Taitong International and Vietnam Minh Khai Company. Under the normalization of pandemics, the follow-up cooperation between Taitong International and Vietnamese enterprises would be realized through video conference. Second, in-depth exchanges were conducted on the issues of customs clearance and safety in the regular operation of "China-Vietnam Multi-modal international freight trains". Third, a consensus on cultural and economic exchanges between Baoding and Lao Cai city and the establishment of a sister city was reached. Leaders from Lao Cai province and its city expressed their full support for economic, trade and cultural exchanges between the two cities.

During the meeting, Chu Xuan, chairman of Taitong International and Vu Minh, chairman of Minh Khai had further exchanges. Both sides introduced and demonstrated their significant advantages respectively, looking forward to achieving win-win cooperation in the future.

With strong support of governments at all levels in China and Vietnam and through joint efforts and cooperation of multiple sides, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei-ASEAN (Vietnam) trade will usher in a new scenario.
