Chu Xuan, chairman of Taitong International, and other members visited Tangshan port for new territorial and maritime cooperation on Beijing-Tianjin-Baoding international smart port. He sought strong collaboration for common development.

On September 24th, 2020, accompanied by Liu Huabing, director of port development division of Tangshan ocean port navigation administration, Chu Xuan and his members visited Tangshan port. Li Donglin, general manager of Tangshan Port (Shanxi) Logistics Co., Ltd., Shan Jieliang, deputy general manager, and Chen Li, deputy general manager of Tangshan Port He De Shipping Co., Ltd. attended the discussion for cooperation.

Both sides introduced development history respectively, business scope and advantages. Tangshan port has established 22 land ports nationwide and its cross-border freight trains have reached Mongolia. Port throughput has registered 640 million tons, ranking the top in China and the second globally. Its domestic coastal lines and Japanese-Korean line have been operated well. Its business covers unloading, logistics, finance and container transport.

After in-depth discussion, both sides can cooperate in many fields:

1. Inland ports possessed by Tangshan port are located outside Hebei province. It is planned to establish an inland port in Hebei province. The smart port is neighboring Xiong’an and equipped with customs holistic service hall as well as railway and big data platform. It is the most suitable node.

2. Taitong International has conducted business with many European countries such as Belarus, Ukraine and Lithuania and developed business with Vietnam. With the cooperation with Tangshan and Shanghai ports, Taitong International will start ocean routes and new territorial and maritime channel combining with China-Europe, China-Asia and ASEAN freight trains.

3. In terms of Japanese-Korean line of Tangshan port, Taitong International will extend domestic trunk lines of smart port, namely smart port freight trains - Tangshan port - Shanghai port – central Europe; smart port multimodal transport - Tangshan port – Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia; Guangzhou – Tangshan port – smart port and areas along the line.

4. Both sides will leverage on sound partnership between our port and Taitong International Tangier port of Morocco and free trade agreements signed between Morocco and over forty countries. Both will cooperate on ocean lines.

Both Tangshan and Beijing-Tianjin-Baoding international smart ports will make use of each other’s advantages and decide to do business together. Both sides will improve the thinking on cooperative intention and operate together so as to realize coordinated development and win-win outcome at an early date.
