On September 12 2021, Dr. Palitha Kohona, the ambassador of Sri Lanka to China was invited to visit Jing-Xiong-Bao port of wisdom. Yang Weikun, Vice mayor of Baoding City, Zhang Linfeng, director of foreign affairs office of Baoding city, Xie Peng, the director of development and reform commission of Baoding city, Li Baoqi, the deputy director of Baoding commerce and Chu Xuan, CEO of Taitong international, and senior management of the company gave a warm reception for the ambassador’s visiting.

 Zhang Linfeng, the director of Baoding foreign affairs office extended warm welcome to ambassador Mr. Kohona on behalf of Baoding People’s government, and introduced Baoding’s history, basic information and the future prospect. Li Baoqi, the deputy director of Baoding commerce, elaborated the friendly relations of China and Sri Lanka, at the same time, he expressed sufficient confidence about the two nations enterprises cooperation.

     The ambassador Kohona firstly expressed his gratitude about China’s aid during the pandemic, furthermore, As a country benefiting from the Belt and Road, Sri Lanka highly recognizes and appreciates China's foreign economic strategy. After that, Ambassador Kohona introduced Sri Lanka’s enterprises, economic development, tourism cultures.

After the introductions of both sides, the discussion centered on "Exploring and seeking for the establishment of friendly relations between Baoding City and relevant cities in Sri Lanka, promoting bilateral economic trade, tourism, culture, education and study abroad", “Taitong international and relevant companies in Sri Lanka cooperate on open up passenger and cargo freight, sea lines” “Jing-Xiong-Bao international port of wisdom direct purchase trading center and set up Sri Lanka pavilions” “Sri Lanka participate in build the Belt and Road information platform” and so on. After good communication, the two sides reached a number of intentions.  

During the meeting, Ambassador Kohona and Baoding government leaders highly appreciated the irreplaceable role played by Taitong International in the interconnectivity of international logistics industry and bilateral enterprises. Sri Lanka and Baoding municipal government will provide maximum convenience for Taitong International and promote more bilateral cooperation.  

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Kohona gladly accepted the invitation of Baoding municipal government and Taitong International to attend the 8^th China International Logistics Development conference and expressed this expection for the conference.
