On July 2 2021, Chu Xuan, Chairman of “Baoding The Belt and Road Trade  Promotion association” visited Mr Sobah Rasheed, the Deputy Ambassador of Maldives to China.

The chairman Chuxuan had a deep communication with deputy ambassador on the forthcoming of The 8th China International Logistics Development Conference which will be held on October. The conference is hosted by Baoding Municipal Government and China Transport Association, and hosted by Taitong International and other enterprises. So far, more than 30 embassies in China have been invited to participate in the conference, and the Embassy of Maldives is also cordidly invited here. Chairman Chu Xuan introduced the operation of Baoding the Belt and Road Trade Promotion Association, saying that it has more than 100 members, all of which are export-oriented manufacturing enterprises in Baoding and Xiong’an New district, and their products involve cotton yarn products, towels, locks, wheels and cars, which can serve as a bridge for the demand side of Maldives.

Besides that, As the leading company of the association, Taitong international transportation Co., Ltd. is a multi-modal transportation company integrating railway, road, sea and air transportation, with overseas distribution in various major cities in ASEAN region.

Mr.Deputy Ambassador made it clear that he would arrange personel to visit Baoding the Belt and Road Trade Promotion Conference in the near future, and made a detailed explanation on the current situation of Maldives’national  trade. Mr.Deputy Ambassador pointed out that Maldives is an island country on Indian Ocean, it has the advantage of rich seafood resources and is also the most distinctive local product, but 90% of domestic demand goods rely on imports. Currently, due to the epidemic, the import and export has been suspended, When the epidemic is over, import and export trade will definitely explode, and logistics and transportation will be in urgent need. If Taitong company is interested, the Embassy will introduce local logistics and transportation companies in Maldives to Taitong.

This meeting is another promotion of the development of foreign trade. The two sides had an in-depth exchange on the opportunities for future trade cooperation. Mr. Vice Ambassador happily accepted the invitation of Chairman Chu for the logistics conference.
