On the morning of September 3th, 2020, Mongkol, consul general of Thailand to Kunming, Mrs Dang Thi, wife of consul general, Weeratan, economic consul, Tidarat, director of business information center, Kosin, deputy director of business information center, Weeranee, director of Kunming branch of Thai King Bank Public Co., Ltd., Kusumarn, deputy business consul, and Jaturapun, commissioner of business service center visited Hekou office of Taitong International Transportation Co., Ltd..

The successful operation of Taitong International ASEAN freight trains will inject new impetus into the development of China-ASEAN strategic partnership. We believe that regular operation of train service will greatly promote the economic and trade exchanges between China and ASEAN countries and boost greater economic and trade development of the two sides.

Zhang Jun, minister of foreign affairs department of Taitong International Transport Co., Ltd., introduced to the consul general in detail the current business progress of Taitong company in Hekou and the following business plan. At the same time, he elaborated on China-Europe and China-Asia freight trains, Beijing-Tianjin-Baoding international smart port, big data application platform, “Belt and Road Initiative” trade promotion association and business development. He also introduced the operation of multimodal transport business model of Taitong International.

Consul general Mongkol praised the establishment of office of Taitong company in Hekou area. He expressed keen interest in "China-Asean" freight train service carried out by Taitong. He said at present, most of cargo transportation in Thailand still depended on road transportation. Therefore, he hoped that the freight train service could connect with the routes of Thailand as soon as possible to boost bilateral trade between China and Thailand.
